How I Treat

My therapy approach is grounded in evidence-based practices—but it’s anything but clinical or cold. I bring realness, clarity, and collaboration into every session. My goal isn’t to “fix” you—it’s to help you better understand yourself and build tools that actually work in your real life.

Relational
& Action-Oriented

You’re not just telling your story into the void. We build a relationship based on honesty, respect, and movement. I’ll listen, but I’ll also challenge you. This is a space where we think, feel, and do.

My Core Modalities & How I Use Them

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

I use CBT to help you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. This means:

  • Catching distorted thought patterns like catastrophizing or black-and-white thinking

  • Developing coping plans for anxious spirals

  • Practicing small behavioral changes that rewire your emotional responses

CBT is great for clients who like structure, goal-setting, and real-time problem solving.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT-Informed Work)

I use DBT-informed skills to help clients who experience intense emotions, impulsivity, or relational stress. Together we work on:

  • Emotion regulation: learning to ride the wave without crashing

  • Distress tolerance: what to do when you’re overwhelmed

  • Interpersonal effectiveness: communicating clearly and calmly

  • Mindfulness: slowing your brain down enough to make a different choice

These tools are especially helpful for burnout, reactivity, and clients navigating ADHD or trauma.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

We don’t have to analyze every past decision to make a good one today. With SFBT, I help you:

  • Identify your existing strengths and what’s already working

  • Create short-term goals that are doable and energizing

  • Focus on forward motion rather than backward rumination

This is great for high-functioning clients who feel stuck and need momentum.

Person-Centered Therapy

I create a nonjudgmental, deeply affirming space where you’re safe to be exactly who you are. This approach is woven throughout all sessions—reminding you that:

  • You are not broken

  • You have wisdom, even when you feel lost

  • Our work is a collaboration—not a lecture

Mindfullness & Somatic Awareness

Stress lives in the body. I integrate nervous system regulation tools like:

  • Breathwork and grounding

  • Noticing body cues

  • Anchoring during panic or overwhelm

  • Restoring a felt sense of safety

This work is especially useful when anxiety or trauma have made your body feel like an unsafe place.

Psychoeducation & Skills Coaching

Understanding why you feel a certain way can be just as important as knowing what to do next. I provide education and practical strategies for:

  • ADHD

  • Trauma

  • Burnout

  • Family dynamics

  • Nervous system functioning

  • Executive functioning

This is empowering, especially for clients who’ve been misdiagnosed, misunderstood, or overwhelmed for a long time.
